This Classroom was especially designed with child sized furniture, materials, and restrooms. It provides students initiative by providing children with materials, equipment, and time to pursue activities they choose. At the same time, it provides teachers the framework for guiding children’s independent activities toward sequenced learning goals.
This classroom was designed with writing centers, building blocks centers, arts & crafts centers, manipulative centers, library centers, science centers, housekeeping areas, computer centers, music and movement centers and outdoor activities as well as exploration.
Lessons are pre-planned a month in advance. Curriculum provides children with hands-on learning activities and experiences, with a variety of appropriate materials.
We encourage social skills, by taking, turns, sharing, following directions, cooperation, expressing needs, and respecting others. We teach children a sense of community by providing ownership of materials, rotating class jobs, and following routines.
